Independent Martial Arts (IMA) was founded in 2006. Its aim is to cater to all styles of martial arts and to all martial artists who wish to evolve and benefit from the sharing of knowledge without prejudice and political interference.
IMA is a non-political, non-interference and non-prejudical democratically run organisation. Whilst it is predominantly Tae Kwon Do based, it comprises martial artists from differing backgrounds and experience other than Tae Kwon Do. It is certainly open to other arts and artists.
All of our instructors and members are truly committed to the IMA and its principles. The IMA's aim is to unite as many people, students, instructors, coaches and clubs as possible to grow an organisation that is truly for the benefit of the martial artist and their art. Unlike many martial arts organisations today, IMA is not a commercially driven organisation.
The IMA can support all instructors and clubs with licencing, insurance and accreditation for instructors, coaching, first aid, CRB and ISA checks and everything else needed to run a successful, well respected club.
Whether you’re an individual instructor, a student or club, regardless of style or size, you’re welcome here in the IMA. All we ask is that you share our values of quality instruction for the benefit of the art and its students.
